Attractions in the Southeast Kent Sussex Surrey Essex Hertfordshire London Kent Kent, the “Garden of England”, lies southeast of London. It includes the famous White Cliffs of Dover, which have provided a strategic defence against the invading armies from right across Europe for hundreds of years. Sussex The counties of East and West Sussex lie south of London, between the counties of Kent and Hampshire. This area includes a large part of the South Downs, which stretches for over 100 miles between Winchester and Eastbourne and is one of the most beautiful features of the area.
