Set on the Atlantic Highway (A39), this romantic oasis is easy to find and the perfect base for both relaxation and recreation. The picturesque village of Clovelly, the jewel of the West Country, is a short drive or a delightful coastal walk from The Hoops, while Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks are within easy reach.

The Hoops Inn and Country Hotel is proud of its extensive range of high quality food provided. The menu is varied to accommodate seasonal specialties and is freshly prepared in our own kitchens using the best of garden and local produce. Guests can choose to dine in the candlelit restaurant, in the relaxed bars or, on balmy summer days, outdoors on the covered courtyard.

In addition to the many historic houses, beautiful gardens and quaint coves and villages, The Hoops Inn has more than 8 acres of landscaped grounds for your enjoyment. More energetic walkers and birdwatchers can follow the steps of Henry Williamsons Otter on the Tarka Trail, take a trip to Lundy Island or ramble along the North Devon Coastal Path.

This 13th century inn is one of England's most famous, being notorious as the haunt of smugglers and a meeting place for seafarers such as Sir Francis Drake, Sir Walter Raleigh and Sir Richard Grenville. In winter, relax by one of the inglenook fireplaces, warming yourself next to a blazing log fire, where you can imagine being transported back in time to a less complicated age.
