The Green as it is known by locals dates back to 1577 with oak beams and oak and coal log fire giving the pub a warm and friendly atmosphere.
The Food
The menu in this typical peak district pub is uncomplicated. An emphasis on traditional English Pub Fayre is apparent as soon as you walk through the door. With the smells of home made casseroles, soups and pies setting the taste buds alight straightaway. There are also traditional favourites such as fish and chips and steak.
Food is served Monday to Saturday from 12.30pm to 2.30pm and 6.00pm to 9.00pm. 2 for £10 meal deal Monday to Friday lunchtime. On Sundays there is a carvery with two to three roasts served from 12.30 until 4.00pm.
